  18. Description of Working Group:
  19. The Network Printing Working Group has the goal of pursuing those
  20. issues which will facilitate the use of printers in an internetworking
  21. environment.  In pursuit of this goal it is expected that we will
  22. present one or more printing protocols to be considered as standards
  23. in the Internet community.
  24.  
  25. This Working Group has a number of specific objectives.  To provide a
  26. draft RFC which will describe the LPR protocol.  To describe printing
  27. specific issues on topics currently under discussion within other
  28. Working Groups (e.g., Security and Dynamic Host Configuration), to
  29. present our concerns to those Working Groups, and to examine printing
  30. protocols which exist or are currently under development and assess
  31. their applicability to Internet-wide use, suggesting changes if
  32. necessary.

  37.      Done Review and approve the Charter, making any changes deemed necessary. 
  38.           Review the problems of printing in the Internet.

  40.      Done Write draft LPR specification.

  42.      Done Discuss and review the draft LPR specification.  Discuss long-range 
  43.           printing issues in the Internet. Review status of Palladium print 
  44.           system at Project Athena.

  46.      Done Submit final LPR specification including changes suggested at the May
  47.           IETF.  Discuss document on mailing list.

  49.      Done Submit LPR specification as an RFC and standard.                     
  50.  
  51.    Jul 90 Write description of the Palladium printing protocol (2.0) in RFC 
  52.           format.

  54.    Aug 90 Discuss and review the draft Palladium RFC.
